General Practice Residency - Dental

Dr. Raj Khanna
Program Director

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome each of you to the General Practice Residency Program at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. The selection of a residency program will be one of the most critical decisions you make during your training. I am thrilled that you are considering spending this important time here.

This academic year will be filled with changes and challenges, which combined, will be beneficial to your development as an accomplished and skilled dentist.

The General Practice Residency program affords an opportunity for the recent graduate to obtain advanced education and training in comprehensive general dentistry within both an ambulatory and a hospital environment. This one year, CODA accredited residency program is specifically designed to enhance the resident's abilities and confidence in fully treating the total patient while familiarizing themselves with other aspects of the hospital health service as they work in close relationship with other members of the health care team. The development of high professional standards in ethics, attitudes and performance is stressed.

We, the entire faculty and staff of the Department of Dentistry and Oral Maxillofacial Surgery are available at any time to assist you in your educational endeavors. We look forward to a productive, challenging and educational academic year, and we extend to each of you our very best wishes.
